That is what i was thinking. It seems another way of de-humanising people.

All the major prisons keep the "nonces" - or sex offenders - on a separate wing. In theory it is to protect them from attacks by "normal" inmates, in practice it means doing their time is harder.
A sex offender prisoner can request not to be held apart from the prison population, which also makes their transfer to an open prison possible.

I had no idea these existed. What is the reason for them?
