Yes, as one who was there at the time I can tell you that it wasn't a 'short' interview with Charlie, it was a very long and excruciatingly uncomfortable interview, during which, clearly drunk as a skunk, he uttered loads of expletives, leered at the audience, made innumerable slanderous comments and generally scared poor Roy Hudd to death. The upshot was that they had to find a very long and cheap excerpt from a movie to fill up the time, and just spliced together Hawtrey's few semi-cogent comments together to top and tail the clip. That's why you very rarely say him interviewed anywhere.

Anyway, I prefer to remember Charles in his younger days:
