Ah Hedda - that is the point; reports and claims of rape and sex crimes have exploded; many more than ever; it's the prosecutions that have dropped, either due to "budget cuts" (i.e no money to send Plod round to Beryl who has been raped again, for the fifteenth time, by a gorgeous young man with biceps) or because a few police have realised these complainants are loonies and telling porkies, either unintentionally or for the many other reasons (especially if the perpetrator is dead). |

why would people stop reporting a crime because of "budget cuts" ?
makes no sense. |

This is the reality; hundreds if not thousands of false, exaggerated, malicious, greedy or simply mistaken claims - and probably millions against dead people.

Budget cuts blamed, but could it be the evidence of false accusers was getting too ridiculous to believe?
They never seem able to see it as a good thing do they? If they had good reason to refer them to the CPS would they not have done so? |

I'm glad you spotted that Pattaya - and allegations were hugely more; my hope is that, as 80% of police are decent people, they are starting to balk at simply pursuing accusations when they are clearly either lies or mistakes or a desire for cash or revenge or exaggerations.
Or am I being too optimistic? |
