Topic History of: Poirot Max. showing the last 5 posts - (Last post first)

Oh dear; went out with not so much a whimper, more the hiss of a failed firework. I was really upset when both Marple and Poirot declined in quality. Marple - magnificent Rutherford; even better Hickson - was never much cop under the new lot. Poirot collapsed after the titles changed and they dropped Japp, Hastings and Miss Lemon (where were two of those three in Curtains?). Silly plot (Agatha was ashamed of it). But, despite all, and glad to see it put out of its agony, it was a landmark in television. |

Will you be watching the last ever Poirot tonight? I will, even though it's gone right off over the past few years. Suchet has been fantastic; ditto Japp, Hastings and Lemon. And those fabulous art deco old opening titles and music. |
