John is a brilliant man, who has always been knocked for speaking out & having an opinion. Alan Titchmarsh? John should of knocked his boring head off.
Rock on John. Many a winner all the way. |

Personally, I feel very sorry for John, who, I feel is to Racing what Murray Walker is to Formula 1 and 'Whispering' Ted Lowe was to Snooker...
This said, I do believe that Channel 4 tried to stick with him for as long as they could. In the end, however, the new P.C. world we live in pretty much forced their hand. John comes from a bygone era and 'speaking your mind' and 'telling it like it is' are no longer cool on television these days even though its thought 'funny' when Julian Clary goes on about fisting Norman Lamont!
As far as the case being a wind up for a story I read that John has put his house on the line to fund his legal fees. Considering the man and going by past form I tend to believe that to be the case so I don't buy into the wind up theory.
all in all I think its a shame that John can not just let it go. Channel 4 HAD to move him on even if they did not really want to and to punters like me John McCririck will always be the legendary 'voice of the punters'. |

I try hard not to judge,.....but this bloke has lost his ever so 'thinly written plot'. To behave and speak as he does in the media environment, and then claim old age as the reason for non renewal of contract is astounding. Where is this persons self awareness? Does he genuinely believe he has a tv career left?
BB was terrible, then wife swap.....and then his institutional appearances on C4 racing for years on end........it's a natural decline of personal judgement, it's failure to adapt to change and it's downright insulting for him to play the age card on behalf of older people........
Just an opinion
But he was hired to play the character for wife swap and BB by the same company that sacked him for it! |

I always thought he was excruciatingly corny but good luck to him- if you have a gimmick and make a buck from it well done.
But honestly he was up there during the safe secure years when he would have been paid handsomely and at his age surely time to move on. There are always supermarkets to be opened for some pin money. |
