I think the problem this year is that they got the balance wrong. That always depends in part on luck, of course, but I do think they didn't think hard enough about the choices. At its best SCD needs one or two great fun characters like Sergeant or Widdy to go far, and then at least one good dancer whose personality really captures the imagination.
They got Dave Myers right but they didn't really find a hugely likeable good dancer on a par with Halfpenny or Alesha Dixon. That makes the last few shows a bit dull.
I like the judges but they're not very savvy; they wildly overreact when the likes of Dave or Widdy keep doing well, when they ought to just laugh it off. It's an entertainment show first and foremost and it wouldn't harm their ambitions at all if a Widdy type got to the last three.
As for Bruce I think he either has to do all the shows or step down. He's a great pro but he can either do it or he can't - these weeks off are getting messy. I cannot abide Winkleman, I find her 'kooky' schtick so cynical her popularity depresses me hugely. Is that REALLY enough to get these gigs these days? I'd love Bruce to go on but at this rate he'll be only doing every other show next year. |

She is a good height but Kara Tointon won it a couple of years ago and she's only 5 foot 3 with quite short legs for her body. It depends on the dances I guess. |

I do think Abbey is the best physically shaped for great looking dancing; those long legs are an essential, aren't they? |

I'm not sure, many women don't like her, and it's a female-dominated vote. She could sneak in as the alternative to Natalie, who is resented for having a dance background. Susanna would be a popular winner if she can up her game.
Warning: Spoiler!Ashley and Mark in bottom two, Mark out. |
