Haven't seen this weeks yet but last weeks did seem a bit tired to me.
The David Bowie section felt like it was just put in because Bowie agreed to do it. Didn't flow for me and came accross as awkward.
I don't think more Shaun Williamson (Barry) really works either. Much better as snippets.
It must be very difficult to move a sit-com on and I applaud the effort, it isn't dire and they have done the best anyone could.
A lot of classic British comedy includes much pathos and bathos, which Extras had/has in plenty.
Everyone working on Extras has done a stirling job. The show hasn't crashed but it has a bit of engine trouble.
What I would say is wrong is the situation not the comedy.

It still puzzles me... there are moments of pure surreal bliss but overall it's just not funny any more - whereas the first series was hysterical throughout.
It's almost as though they are now in a formula.
But Diana Rigg wearing a condom and telling Harry Potter to piss off... genius.
But all the Downs Syndrome/midget stuff had a "seen this before" feel about it; how far can you go? Even the tabloid mockings, though accurate and clever, were just not funny.
