So I think outside the box. This is the "Your Views Messageboard" and I've posted my views. If you don't like it, tough, I'm not about to apologise for beliefs which, for me, are passionate. Sneer as much as you like, it makes no difference to me. But here's a thought for you. Whenever people start getting a bit territorial about their country the tend to start deploying hackneyed old chestnuts like "common sense", "the real world", "facts" and {not least of all} "it's damaging the children".
And I've never claimed that joining the Euro is the only way out of the mess we're in. I've said {and I continue to say} that we should have joined it years ago {while we're at it, how are economies like the German's in any way backward?}.
That my views find little favour here surprises me not one bit. The nationalistic bandwagon Pattaya has lashed his horse to is certainly a popular one currently. Doesn't make those views right, just makes them widely held. And history is full of mistakes made by lots of people. Both Bush and Blair had, once upon a time, massive popular appeal.
As for being a "former boarder"... not so. I've posted regularly since I don't know when. Not as often as once I did, but there seem to be fewer genuinely interesting comments to reply to lately. That is hardly my fault, besides, there's much more to life than this.
I'm trying to take a neutral view in commenting that whatever bitterness there is in this thread certainly doesn't appear to be one sided {and my own is, after all, admitted in my last posting}. Neither have I called anyone a racist in this thread.
And lastly, Pattaya... do you genuinely believe that my jail term has anything to do with either this thread or my political views, or was it simply a cheap shot on your part? I've said many, many times that I got what I deserved. So I'd appreciate it if you dropped that line. Thanks in advance.

Watch it Pattaya you will be dubbed racist by ITK and Locked Out when your actually speaking the truth. Tories can bail out Ukraine but could not get help to people with flood, charity does not start at home it's a myth.
I think ITK has only pushed the idea of immigration, not called anyone racist, and Locked out only said Xenophobia.
Didn't they get the money to the flooded places in the end? I thought Cameron said money was no object? |

I dont think it is fair to imply that someone is racist or xenophobic if they fear their children's education might suffer because of newcomers.
We can appreciate other peoples customs while wanting to retain our own, and there are valid reasons to at least question immigration.
It would be unusual for any sort of disruption in class to not have an effect on the other pupils. Even one child who takes up the teachers time can have an impact.
If people are afraid to complain or discuss it for fear of not being PC enough then nothing will change or improve.
Well said Honey,LO will only be happy if nobody opposes his view.Trouble is nobody ever agrees with him...perhaps he's just too clever for us mere mortals? |

Lol Andrew,ITK is fun,and his contributions liven up debate,LO is just a bitter and twisted former boarder here, who likes to pick on others. He was once daft enough to recommend our way out of our current economic state was to join the Euro! Nuff said |
