Ed Miliband has come under further pressure with two new polls suggesting the Labour lead over the Conservatives is narrowing.

The head of Miliband's policy review, Jon Cruddas, added his voice to calls from a coalition of Labour think tanks and senior party figures who have called for a strategic change in direction.

comrade hedda

Reading a book of political writings by a Canberra correspondent Alan Ramsey and he brings us a letter penned in 1949 by Sir Keef Murdcoh to the then Aust PM:

" I want to also ask you to shake hands with my 18 year old student son who at present is a zealous Laborite but will eventually (hopefully)travel the same course as his father"

## In 1953 Sir Keith's powerful newspapers flayed that Labor Prime Minister, the much loved Ben Chifley, a former train driver, and helped oust him ushering in 20 years of Conservative rule under Sir Robert Menzies, ardent Royalist (like hedda & JK) Lord Beaverbrook hatched a plan to replace Churchill with Menzies as UK PM during WW2.

## current PM London born and Ten Pound Pom immigrant(even though his father was rich)ardent Tory Tony Abbott seems intent on taking us back to the 1950s.

###vale Tony Benn.
