JK2006 It was a puncture - mended and put back on my little car at the cost of a mere £15.

I'm assured the tyre is as good as new.

The London Underground is just as good. Had occasion recently to travel between the two Westfields - Stratford and Shepherds Bush.

13 miles across London, in under half an hour! By car, during the day, it could take almost two hours, with parking.
hedda a Mini for London. the only sensible car and easy to park.

But the little Fiat is just as good.
JK2006 Correct on both counts, Dixie. My recent trips to Liverpool and Cambridge were fantastic by train and I do indeed love the NYC subway system. Likewise, I'm doing more and more European travel by train instead of plane or car. I'm getting old!

I'm not really a public transport sort of person Andrew!

I thought you were a recently converted fan of the train? Also, I remember you once raved about the subway in NYC, (to get to baseball games).
