this whole affair is bad news for Sinn Fein who were doing well in Irish politics

Not so !
Sinn Fein get biggest share of the vote !

At 24.1%, Sinn Féin emerged with the biggest share of the vote despite the DUP winning more seats.

The DUP has dipped from a 27% share in 2011 to 23%.

The Ulster Unionists achieved 16.1%, while Traditional Unionist Voice rose from 2% last time to 4.5%.

... and in the Euro elections -

Sinn Fein take Dublin !

Sinn Féin showed this weekend there is more than one way to stage a “spectacular”. Not even halfway through the count and party leaders were already admiring their handiwork.

Sinn Féin (screamingly mainstream now but trying desperately to hide in the closet) had the other establishment parties reeling. Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil supporters were shocked.

ITK - on the nail again !!!!

Ye olde Devil

Well spotted!
SP17 Ask anyone in the RoI if Gerry Adams is a member/leader of the illegal IRA - the answer will be 'yes'

Economic matters have helped SF/IRA growth (albeit very slow) in Irish politics - just like here, (UKIP) and France, Italy etc.

There is a BIG change in current/rational thinking in the EU countries.

Thank God that Adams/McGuiness are OAP's.

Sinn Fein on course to win 3 of the 11 Euro elections seats - thats equal to the government's Fine Gael party !

Polls now predict no Sinn Fein seats.
