JK2006 The actress playing Borte was Chuluuny Khulan - Google her images and see if you agree she's beautiful.
JK2006 What I loved about this was the totally different attitude to life and death, love and marriage - even language. Since it was made by those closer to the culture, starred actors with those flat Mongolian features (the actress playing Borte was stunning), it convinced about a different time. Fabulous early scenes (the young 9 year old Khan was chosen by the 10 year old girl the moment she saw him - love at first sight - and he chose her in turn because she had "strong legs"). A really fascinating movie.
