Oooh, ten years for Mr Clifford's good pal. Let's wish him the best on rice and water! |

as I expected, Thailand's King is about to endorse the general who has taken control in Thailand and dissolved Parliament. This is usually done with a televised meeting where he will place a scarf around his neck.
The Daily Mail is crowing like crazy because the Mail Online has been 'blocked' online after a derogatory tale about a Thai princess with the usual double standards applied..outrage when a British princess is photographed topless by those ghastly Frogs but when a Thain princess is photographed- in private- it's a sensation with nary a thought for how revered and beloved are the Thai Royal family.
Now journalists are being commanded to report to the military including the hapless Andrew Drummond- main claim to fame he "snared" Gary Glitter ( by entering Cambodia on a tourist visa and working illegally and boasting about it.)
Drummond has printed numerous stories alleging corruption amongst Thai officials and local police- he and his ex-pat Farang boozy supporters are oblivious to local custom and ignorant of how , what we call "bribes" works.
Centuries of a system of small payments that make a society actually work are condemned by British arrogance that Asia must conform to their so-called "standards"...no "when in Rome" stuff with this ghastly lot. Odd that other European ex-pats, Germans etc understand this.
Unbelievably Drummond has run a story on his blog about the Mail Online blocking with his handful of supporters chortling away about how they can by-pass Thai web bans, apparently oblivious to the fact it could mean a 10 year jail sentence. |
