That's correct JK - those 12 included a convicted fraud who's boyfriend in 1977 was Dave's Tape Op. Luckily for Dave he was also keeper of very detailed diaries going all the way back to the 1970s. There was the allegation from a beauty pageant in 1971 - luckily for Dave someone came forward with Cine footage from that particular event that proved he never left his wife's side throughout. There was the poseur girl from the 29-6-78 Top Of The Pops who claimed the show was purposely edited to mask an assault, but on close examination of the link starts laughing as it fades into the Smurfs promo. There was the former BBC Newsreader who's name we all know who claimed DLT rampaged through all BBC continuity studios jiggling breasts whilst she read the news live on air - I wonder if that nonsense is still part of her 'after dinner speaking' now?
And then there was the prize: The "Child". How The Witchfinders, lawyers & BBC wanted him to be found guilty of that one, for that would make him a TOTP Paedophile. In court she did indeed cut a very disturbing figure - "learning difficulties" would be polite. She'd given numerous different accounts of this heinous assault in a caravan at a rural Showaddywaddy gig in 1978, in court she even succeeded in drawing incredulous gasps from the Daleks in the press area as she embellished her latest "recollections" with the presence of other Radio 1 DJ's of the time witnessing said imaginary molestation. Fortunately other witnesses, including the son of the landowner who had organised the gig with the Plastic Ted's. were a lot more credible. |

Hedda - DLT had 12 false accusers in his first trial, I believe; 10 were thrown out, two were "no decision". The CPS decided to prosecute again on those two. In the second trial both were rejected; one as Not Guilty, one as No Decision again. But a new allegation was found guilty and he got a three month suspended sentence. I think those are the correct numbers. |

Wonder how many of the accusers in these cases have a record for fraud and/or were in financial difficulty before making the accusation. |
