No it's extortion.
one big problem I have with visiting the UK now- in Oz $1 buys same as £1 but you have to pay $2 to get £1 in exchange rate
and yet the Oz pension I am eagerly awaiting is twice the UK pension

Some shops sell them cheaply after Bonfire Night, also there are websites that let you buy them bulk.
I never seen the fascination about fireworks, they scare animals and people let them off days in advance, which spoils the so called tradition.
