when the choice is to be whisked off to Gitmo for decades with no trial and unable to see "evidence" against you- when powerful US politicians call for you to be executed without trial- any safe harbour would be acceptable.
The biggest scam ever pulled is that the USA has convinced the world it is a beacon of 'democracy'. |

It's curious anyone with a concern for truth and democracy should choose Ecuador and Russia as a place of refuge. Perhaps Assange will be lifting the lid on their dirty laundry soon, or never, just like Edward Snowden. |

The siege of Knightsbridge is a farce. For two years, an exaggerated, costly police presence around the Ecuadorean embassy in London has served no purpose other than to flaunt the power of the state.
Their quarry is an Australian charged with no crime, a refugee from gross injustice whose only security is the room given him by a brave South American country. His true crime is to have initiated a wave of truth-telling in an era of lies, cynicism and war.
