JK2006 Why on earth was this woman NOT believed when she complained at length about her teenage son being groomed by a man who went on to murder him?

She WOULD have been believed if she'd lied and said a footballer had raped her 30 years ago. He would have been arrested, lost his job (probably a manager or coach by now), tried, convicted and not allowed to work in football again on his release.

She WOULD have been believed if she'd made allegations from 40 years earlier about dead DJs or comedians and would have been given thousands in compensation from their estates without any investigation.

It's beyond me.
