Football yobs are not true fans they are just people who want to be part of something.
Being a fan and part of something are not mutually exclusive.
A major setback to football, though, took place in Birmingham at the weekend - after the FA Cup quarter final game between Aston Villa and West Brom.
The pitch was invaded - mainly by the victorious Villa fans - and players and officials alike were manhandled in scenes like those of the 70/80's.
Severe fines - and possible bans - will be given by the FA. And maybe even EUFA.
It must be hoped that it was a one-off...

Ireland are having a great World Cup - I watched them beat Zimbabwe by five runs on Saturday morning, from Hobart.

Been very interesting and unpredictable. England vs Sri Lanka will be interesting but my money is on Sri Lanka and got a couple of quid on England to beat Scotland.
England are out and if this football people will be fighting and yelling racist chants. Football yobs are not true fans they are just people who want to be part of something. |

BBC go on about the importance of sport but do fuck all about unless it's athletics. Wimbledon could be going BT Sports soon and snooker on BBC could be heading to Sky.
BBC just don't have the budget of the likes of Sky - who can show the events to a world wide audience.
In golf, The Open has gone - as will each major sporting event, one by one. Money talks.
The ECB are to blame also for giving the rights too cheaply to Sky but BBC love to waste money on staff and tripe TV. How much did Sky bid on the Open and will they bid for wretched bowls ? |
