Pattaya Good old Lenny,a Black Country native I've known since his New Faces days.
He's an amazingly naturally funny man, cracks me up just hearing him, same with Billy Connelly.

Comic Relief may be crap TV,the money may be well spent,or badly wasted.....but the good thing about it Mr King is that people have a choice of whether to contribute...unlike the ridiculous waste of money that is our foreign aid programme.

ps - boring without ITK,the new court jester tries hard, but should be pensioned off...
SP17 Nobody on earth thinks that Comic Relief is good TV.

But that doesn't matter.

The fact that so many benefit from the money raised is the important thing.

Sadly again - people even dispute that.

Its good however that the show (and badly needed help) goes on - year after year.

Despite all the begrudgers....

JK2006 You're right about Queen BB (Freddie treated it like a serious promo opportunity; they rehearsed for days) - the exception that proved the rule. And I had a long, personal discussion with Bob G at the time about the single, of which he was very proud and couldn't accept that I didn't like it (I thought Jackson's record was better). I like Bob enormously incidentally, as a person. We'll all have different tastes, thank heavens.

I disagree. The original Band Aid single is one of the best and most popular Christmas songs ever and in IMHO is usually only disliked because over familiarity has bred contempt. At Live Aid Queen gave the best performance of their long career and U2's performance elevated them from an arena act to a stadium band. Also during that day in 1985 David Bowie delivered the most poignant rendition of Heroes he has ever given. Not too shabby
JK2006 Watching Lenny Henry in Uganda at a refurbished hospital. Now I hate TV charity shows because they are always bad entertainment. Comic Relief is simply, usually, not funny. Likewise music - my hatred for Band and Live Aid was because they were bad music. But I thoroughly approve of what charity does and actually feel those are the duties I'd like my taxes spent on; not wasted on media promoted "good stories".
