I have a lot of jounalist friends, and "create a story" is a reality, and is laughed over whilst quaffing wine.
I created an absolute whopper once about touring the USSR pre the collapse of the regime, and the Berlin wall.
Every paper I sent it to, took it, and I had not even got a contact at the time for the country.
My favourite headline was "Veggie singer to tour country where they queue for cabbage!"
"Blastnost!" was good as well.
I wish people would realise how much they read is actually, what`s the word? Oh yeah, crap.
There are real stories on here readers from real people. |

Oh no Martin; that's the point; it would have been evidence!
At least they usually know how to cover their tracks (unless they are tapping phones, of course). |

That`s a story in itself, I had no idea that sort of thing went on, I assume he was not even paid.
We did some clothes modelling, for a photo shoot and were paid in the clothes we modelled, which we didnt want, they could have at least let the chap stick the banner on E-bay. |

Yes Martin; the neighbours are brilliant.
Funny story; when I was released there was a lot of TV coverage and a man running a hostel down the street was seen holding up a banner on his balcony.
A few days later, strolling down the street, I saw him scrubbing his steps - I smiled and said Good Morning. He clearly did not recognise me and had no idea who I was (he is South African and only arrived here a couple of years ago).
After two or three nods and smiles later I stopped and said "weren't you on TV a few weeks ago?".
"Yes", he said, "there was a news story and a TV company gave me this banner they had made and asked me to hold it up".
"Really", I said, "Do you still have it?".
"Oh no, they took it away with them", he replied, still not recognising me.
Made me laugh. |
