This ties in very neatly my with message below. We were resident in a hotel in Reading at the time, and encoured with "Here Comes The Sun", and whilst we were there recieved a call to play a memorial concert for George at the Reeperbaum. We backed the wonderful Roy Young, who I mentioned below from the Beatles photo, who had written a tribute in song for George and his family, and had flown all the way from New York to play it.We were frantically learning it in the hotel room on the morning of the gig, and for safetys sake I wrote it out on a piece of Filofax paper and left it at my feet.Stupidly I did this in red felt tip, and when we got to play the song, the stage was bathed in a red glow, and the notes became invisible!
I cannot recall all the luminaries on the bill, Tony Sheridan finished the night, Scotty Moore opened the evening, King Size Taylor was fantastic as well as was Howie. I don`t imagine that line up will ever be united again. What a wonderful oppurtunity I had to work these people.
But as you say, five years down the line, that is indeed scary.
Where do the years go? |

I was shocked to discover that George Harrison died 5 years ago.
November 2001 - another world for some.
Also shocked my last gig was a year ago, must hassle my guitarist
BTW these 2 things are not related... except it threw me out a bit on how quickly time has gone by and how many of the things I should have done I haven't |
