Martin I still find this a very hard question though, I am surrounded by art deco masks, which I adore, my favourite view of Hampshire, which was painted for me, and collages of my own screenprints, this thread has made me think of influences as much as anything.
And would I love to own a Hockney or what? I love the swimming pool paintings.
mickeyone The all blue painting is 'Blue' by Joan Miro - a wonderful Spanish artist. The other fantastic artist that used solid blocks of colour to incredible effect was the American genius MARK ROTHKO.
Martin Completely at a tangent, any work by Clarice Cliff. My favourite artist, although notably a potter technically.
I have commissioned a wall size painting in her style "Trees and House", which has had to be altered slightly due to copyrite, I do hope it will be my fave piece ever, but I have not seen it yet!
Apart from that, any Constable painting.
Manager Man My choice would probably be the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
JK2006 Ah I think this is the famous blue (but not famous enough for me to remember its name!).
