Martin The preserved duck was set into a pate of duck liver cut into slices, and sealed with clarified butter.
I must say the haddock in the macaroni cheese has been repeating a bit all day, but what I will say on a personal note, is how many meals do you fix your wedding day after eating them?
zooloo More a "what!" than a wow

Cheese with fish are not things that come immediately to mind. Smoked fish I can vaguely believe though, sounds like it "might" be OK.

I was going to applaud for being bold enough to try it but I then realised I don't know the other menu options It might have been wildebeest and sea cucumber garnished with butterfly tongues or something.

The preserved duck - preserved how please?
Martin I am doing this one tonight, for our regulars, as I am so full up,so don`t expect to hear from me until midday!I didn`t take the dog for a "walk",after, I just took her for a "stand".( I couldn`t move)
Fantastic preserved duck with chutney and toast, followed by a bizzare combination of macaroni cheese and smoked haddock.
This was to die for, and pure genius.
Too many flavours I hear you say, no way , pureness in itself. Why did I not think of these dishes myself?
And then..blimey, oh, Charley,(!)orange and chocolate tart with candied orange segments. The best pudding I have ever eaten in my life, ok,maybe, except for Heston`s "Quaking Pudding".
I am doing a full review for a mag in the morning, but I tell you what foodies, that was sheer class.
These guys need a rating in a food guide and believe me, I slag off everything I don`t like.
"20 on the River", you have the Food Post "well done stamp".
We lurve u!
