Pattaya Being abroad a lot I can get good quality Bagels in many of those places....even here in Kuala Lumpar there are a few places in thw shopping center under the Twin towers who do them.In Ukraine near my flat there's a little Jewish shop that will make them to order...wonderful

The nearest you seem to get them here is as mentioned in silly bags,or worse McDonalds!!
honey!oh sugar sugar. how odd. I loathe them but round our way you can bank on them being reduced to between 3 and 10 pence in the supermarket at least once a week.
JK2006 I've never been a bagel or a pretzel fan. Give me good old sliced white or a baguette or croissant any day. I do like petit pain au chocolate.

I love a freshly-baked bagel as a weekly treat. You used to be able to get them just about everywhere. Now...nowt. Nada. Not in M&S, Tesco, Sainsburys, ASDA. Lots of fresh rolls and pretzels but no bagels. All you can get are the plastic bags of horrible soft ersatz bagels. I asked at M&S and the baker said 'we don't get much call for them now'. BAGELS? There are more people wanting pretzels than bagels? I don't believe it. So is this just a local thing or are bagels becoming a rarity in this country??

I love bagels and practically lived off them in New York where they abound. But I think are falling out of favour. Even in the tiny Jewish pockets in Sydney there are no bagel specialists.

what is life coming to?
