zooloo Oh.

Thank you and to the author.
The Cat Maybe the kids are not being kidded byt all the hype and hysteria. Maybe they are more aware than some would like them to be.

I was given this poem to read. It's by a 13 yr old boy and I asked him if it would be ok to share it on here. Obviously, as it's now on here, he said yes.

It's called PETER.

Peter was a quiet man,
He had a thing for boys.
He'd take them to the funfair
And buy them lots of toys.

He'd tell them
They were special
And always treat
Them fair.
He shared with them
His feelings,
Laying his emotions bare.

Peter had a neighbour
Who didn't like him much,
He had tattoos upon his arms
And was really rather butch.

He'd follow Peter
Round the town
And try to make
Life hell.
He got his friends
To join him
And drove Peter into a shell.

Peter was an okay guy
The kids all told me so,
But adults couldn't understand,
They said he had to go.

They told the
Local paper
And put Peter in the frame
For having sex
With children;
It really was a shame.

Peter never went that far,
He wasn't all that bad.
One boy looked on Peter
Like an extra special Dad

But now this boy's
An orphan,
A second time around.
Peter left the town
One night
With hardly any sound.

Peter was a human being
Like you and them and me,
But they found him in some woodland
Hanging from a tree.

His life was
Ended early
Through ignorance and fear
But no-one cared
Enough to
Even shed a tear.

Peter was a quiet man,
And much misunderstood
By people who delight in bad
But never see the good.
