pete Agreed. With intelligent scepticism and dogged pursuit of an evidential trail, they were able to identify (and see through the lies of) a very nasty man who did very nasty things. For that they are certainly to be congratulated.

It's a pity that this level-headed professionalism seems to desert them when they hear the word "sex."
JK2006 Not able to comment too deeply, having only read media reports, but it does appear to be an excellent police job; we give them a lot of stick here, quite rightly, so let's praise them when they deserve it.
