JK2006 Yes the kid is brilliant, having seen him being himself on TV - totally different.
Titanicboy No I love it too and have done since Season 1 Episode 1, when my then partner and I were glued to it, as her 6 year old son had just been diagnosed with Asperger's which falls under the Autistic spectrum. The series is bang-on with its observations of Autism - even though the symptoms and behavioural aspects are completely individual to each sufferer. The recent documentary about Chris Packham is equally fascinating - and moving - for anyone interested. Quite apart from that specific angle, the series, plot lines and acting are, as you say, brilliant on every level... not to mention the boy himself who, despite perhaps not having much to 'act' in the traditional sense of the word, remains a presence and a powerful central character throughout, around whom everyone else's lives revolve. Which is perhaps the truest-to-life element of the whole series.
JK2006 Rather surprised by lack of comments about this wonderful series. Isn't anybody else hooked? Eccleston is brilliant in it but all the cast are great (his girlfriend reminds me of the mother in Bewitched). So well written, acted and directed.
JK2006 Nuanced. And very funny. And touching.
JK2006 I really love this series.
