The story implies that it was the VIP abuse scandal that caused his PTSD.
"Mr Settle says he has no regrets about speaking out about the VIP sex and child abuse scandal – even though it took a huge toll on his mental health. He has suffered severe depression and PTSD, and is retiring early on ill health grounds."
But this recent BBC article describing his PTSD makes no mention of the VIP abuse scandal.
Well done Stephen Wright at the Mail, apparently the only paper prepared to examine the False Allegations Industry.
At this time when ex cops (the Damian Green case) are behaving disgracefully, Paul Settle is, to many of us, an absolute hero for simply being a decent, honourable police officer doing his job properly. He should have been held up as a beacon of light and shown to the forces as an example of how everybody should behave when examining claims of sex abuse.
As TV schedules are decimated, careers and lives ruined and the Presumption of Guilt held up as the standard, Paul Settle had the integrity and courage to honour his integrity.
Others should - must - be ashamed.
