Peter A number of possible reasons, the main one being that the media does not do ‘intelligent’ any more, such as investigative journalism or science. Instead they cater for a dumbed-down public at the most banal and introspective levels. The topic of extra-terrestrial for the past seventy years has only attracted ridicule and disinformation simply because those in power for whatever reason have been hell-bent on keeping it that way.

I’d add that no-one on this planet has any idea what the object is. It could be an artefact; it could be rock.

Coincidentally NASA plan to livestream a 'major' media briefing today. The agency says the event will focus on the latest Kepler discovery - an 'alien' planet, which was facilitated by machine learning techniques from Google.
wyot Question to all: why is this story not front page every paper today for interest and sales? Brexit (yawn), latest "grope" (yawn)....?
