Topic History of: Distribution offer .... Max. showing the last 5 posts - (Last post first)

I echo Zoo`s congratulations, well done, but without really playing devils advocate in this case, you do have to ask yourself these days, if you want to work with someone or FOR someone and pay that someone.
With self funded digital distribution, you can release anything you ever dreamed of doing without help outside of your unit.
You can be managed, should you need that security, advice and isolation from desicion making, or you can just simply start it today yourselves.
Do you have faith in your material?
It reads like you do in the post.
Don`t go for UK only distribution only, guys either, we are relatively unknown, but the money on download sales is dripping from the USA. |

First off - congratulations on getting attention.
As there is more than one distributor interested that puts you in a better position than if just one was looking.
Negotiate - ask the distributors what they want, they may be happier to do just UK or Europe anyway.
Read the small print - have a good look at what the offer actually is and decide the best overall offer.
Check the company - what have they done previously and what are they doing now. Does your music fit in with their business?
Good luck too |

A tentative discussion after another great gig this weekend with a potential distributor
We intended to manufacture 1000 albums for starters, we've done artwork etc. Recorded in the UK, mixed in the USA by a guy who has 8 million album sales to his name and a single that appeared on that UK top ten best selling singles of the year programme.
Material for album two is written and we're talking pre-production sessions etc
They're offering to manufacture for us, We take 200 cds at |
