terrylamps You clearly need to stick to US Sports as I'm sure your knowledge must exceed that of the British game! JT is the ideal Captain and whilst Gerrard is a fine player JT should keep the England role for years.He's a born leader, a fine player and will die for the cause....not that I'm biased of course...roll on Valencia tonight

Captains perform best in defensive roles, and John Terry is doing a splendid job. Gerrard is a fairly reliable England mid-fielder, and is best left without the added responsibility so that he can concentrate on taking the ball forward, etc.
