Absolutely dreadful.
All the gossips will say "well, there`s no smoke without fire" forever.
Simply awful, and one of my biggest fears as a human being as well.
The whole situation is more dangerous than mentioned in the thread so far, false accusations will inevitably transform into a fear of making a true accusation that can be deemed as false.
Another example that shows we cannot judge ourselves in anyway whatsoever.
I`m glad I`m not a legally minded person, I don`t have an answer to it. |

Plus, if the police were looking for a celebrity scalp and lots of great publicity, as in certain cases, would they have allowed the retraction?
Don't think so; they probably would have helped write the accusation in the first place! |

As predicted, even the tabloids are starting to notice.
Big piece in the Sun too.
Late as hell but the appalling epidemic of false allegations is getting noticed even if it's not yet being understood (all those innocent inmates found guilty) or properly punished (give them the same as the "rapists" would have got). |
