Barney Nearer to home - on the movie location topic - is Skellig Michael, a steep volcanic island off the south west coast of Ireland.

Where a couple of Star Wars movies (and others) were filmed - and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A unique bird sanctuary as well - and where monks lived for centuries.

Often these types of locations are much more atmospheric than film sets.

JK2006 If you were impressed by the last scenes, they were filmed in Petra, Jordan which, for me, is one of the wonders of the world. If you've never been there, your jaw will drop. I've been there twice, last time in 2000.
