I always thought of bread sauce as a thick, lumpy,dolloppy thing that sat on the side of the plate....you make it as a pour over sauce....now that explains why I never made your recipe work Doctor King.... |

Those intrigued by my Bread Sauce, known throughout the culinary universe as the best in the world, may want my recipe.
Olive oil; turn an onion, chopped, into gold, then add a slice of white bread, preferably slightly stale, crumbled up, and some milk. Stir and add four cloves and a Knorr chicken stock cube. One crushed garlic bud. Allow to simmer for five minutes, constantly stirring; add salt and pepper to taste; a knob of butter; a tablespoon of cream; another five minutes (keep stirring) and you have the best bread sauce in the world.
