JK2006 I like Merkel; cannot stand May; thought she was a terrible Home Secretary; find her cold, robotic, rude and thoughtless. She is the secretary accidentally appointed CEO (because nobody else wanted this impossible job). Yes - I blame Cameron for thoughtlessly allowing a complex question to be answered by a simplistic solution given to uninformed voters. We employ MPs to learn about these issues and decide after hefty consultations with even better informed civil servants. Giving the decision to uneducated (in these matters) people only informed by the populist media - whose agenda is simplistic - was always going to lead to disaster.
