I think Honey has a sound democratic point....we have made the choice to leave,and this has not happened yet.Leave is the democratic mandate,made clear by the ex PM,and many others during the Referendum campaign.,,,,
....There are only two ways to leave that honour the promises made...with a deal...or without....in fact if we take Cameron at this word,May's deal does not honour that....leaving the Single Market and Customs Union were facts set out by Cameron when explaining what we were voting for...and were also made clear by just about every major player at the time...adding 'options' on afterwards does nothing to democratic will....and by the law of the land as voted for by Parliament after voting to enact Article 50 we were meant to leave,with a deal if passed by Parliament,or without a deal if not....
....We are due two elections in the near future,they will provide a much more clear voice for the people to express their opinions....the time taken to run a Referendum campaign is too long....
....my betting is the tories will dump May after bad election results,A Brexit leaning PM will come about...the EU will then need to rethink it's whole position....and only then will 'clear water' be set between the two main parties....A General Election now would just be a hung parliament mess,after a change of leader it becomes a real choice,and a chance to sort this mess out once and for all. |
