Does she have a secret drinking problem ?

But why - alcohol is sold on many/most UK trains

Legally and enjoyable

Why the fuss...I had a G&T today on the way home to London (yes, on a train)...

It is a bit different if you are in the dining car at a table, but swigging booze from a can on a crowded tube in the daytime gives the impression that you might be a bit of a plonky.

If I understand the situation correctly Honey she was on a train run by London overground...not underground...but perhaps she was 'Wombling free'?
Anyway it would appear such trains have an alcohol ban, while regular trains actually sell it to you,and as such encourage you to drink as a result...if of course you can afford their prices?

The questions raised by her actions boil down to did she know there even was a law about drinking?...

I would imagine she did. I dont live in London, never use the trains if I am there, live in my own little world not noticing anything, yet even I knew about it.

But she might have just been thirsty and had it handy in her bag. If it was planned she would probably have had food with it , being diabetic.

Technically she could be in charge of law and order anytime soon...hence she should be seen not breaking rules....but she's never pushed herself as some type of goody goody etc...and there are two types of trains...some you can drink on,some you cannot...I rarely use trains much myself....and do not drink alcohol...so totally irrelevant to me...I poke much political fun in the way of the hapless Abbott...but this time it's just being silly...and possibly a slow news day.

Enjoy your day Honey.
