With only 10 Westminster seats - the influence they wield is perverse.
This has now come to pass - unless Boris has another gift for them...

Previously, the DUP were able to extract c£1 billion - from the Tories - in return for the votes of their 10 MPs.
Highly likely to have the most council seats in Northern Ireland - with almost 25% of the vote - the DUP's role and power (in respect of Brexit) has increased.

Ms May didn't fully appreciate the calibre of people she asked for help.
Like Shylock insisted - a pound of flesh will be the required payment, if the May Brexit plan is to proceed.

With the new attempt to reestablish government in Northern Ireland in progress, combined with its ongoing pivotal role in Brexit - a further body blow has been given to the province.
Its largest manufacturing company has decided - today - to leave, with the loss of 4,000 jobs.
Bombardier Aerospace is closing its NI sites - and is also leaving Morocco, to concentrate on its core locations in Canada.
Abysmal timing - which won't please the Democratic Unionist Party, who support the Conservatives (mostly) - and have an important say in Brexit negotiations.
Undoubtedly, the DUP will require assurances about the Bombardier loss (compensation etc.) - if they are to continue supporting the Tory government.

Ms May could have done with better news, on this election day.
