JK2006 If, as looks likely but certainly possible, we remain in the EU, for our Government not to try for a hefty chunk of MEP's is seriously deserting the elected mandate. As the ruling party (haha) - we require representation in Europe to fight our corner in a positive way. Surely nobody wants us to damage the structure of our allies? We are and will be a part of Europe and we want to make it a success; more than that, we want our national interests to be protected and boosted. We want our farmers protected. Out fishing industry protected. Our manufacturing protected. Our copyrights protected. For the Conservatives not to try to have a majority of MEP's is letting down the electorate. Even those wanting us to leave the EU surely do not want to see, if we have to remain in it, us to have less not more positive input? Or am I mad? I seem to be the only one in step here.
