This is always an enjoyable and emotional show to watch. Making it every 7 years means that they never become too familiar and thus celebrities, rendering the show meaningless. I fear that this may be the last series of the show, with Michael Apsted now in his 80s, and the subjects will be 70 next series. I've watched it since 28up in 1984, and with each series more and more of the show is filled with archive clips with only a small amount of time dedicated to how they are now. Well done ITV, they don't make many great shows, but this is one of them. |

Loved this since 7UP - Neil always my favourite; sad when his life fell apart; he's still far and away the most interesting and attractive character.
Neil reminds me off a lot of people, they always seem to be dealt a bad hand in life they can't get rid off.
Labouring is only temperamental and if you're not part of the clique or have the same sense of humour you are outcasted on the building site. So if he was harassed and not thick skinned he would despise it, everyone is built different. I always found him an interesting man on the series.
He would be well suited working in a library he seems to be very intellectual and has touch of Jean-Paul Sartre inside him. |

I love this too and watch it avidly. I never get sick of the old clips, either.
I cried through a lot of this one. The obvious things like Lynne dying, and Nick's cancer, but also when Paul-the little boy who was worried his wife would give him greens held his grandchild, and they had exactly the same face. I dont really know why, but it had me sobbing. |
