Barney The salient and significant factor here is police incompetence.

A highly unusual and complex case was inherited by officers with little or no experience.

Bodies everywhere (all a family/25 shots), and an overriding desire to have it all wrapped up quickly.

Essex police wanted to rival the Met on competence - ignoring details, and failing to make logical decisions.

CSI (an American series, showing how forensic analysis should be carried out) would have come up with a very different outcome.

Blood spatter and timeline factors would have been paramount.

Guilty or not - Bamber's case was handled extremely badly.

Most will agree with that, at least, when the series concludes.

Officers concerned will be incomunacdo - as they were soon after the horrendous events....

JK2006 And is it just me or do many of these documents-dramas have an ongoing rumble effect or music underneath the whole thing; trying to create doom but instead making dialogue impossible to hear?
JK2006 I'd forgotten what a dreadful crime it was; the only conclusion has to be that only a lunatic could do something like that and it does seem that Bambi was bonkers. But we're only 45 mins in.
JK2006 White House Farm - I'm finding it incredibly hard to understand the dialogue; this happens a lot; worse with ITV than BBC and the commercials are as clear as bells (unfortunately; don't want to hear a word of the crap). Is it me going deafer and deafer or do others find it similar? I'd think it was me if it wasn't for the commercials being crystal clear; I can hear every pointless word.
Barney Ownership of blood on the gun's silencer was - the lab later reported - inconclusive, and could have been that of someone else; instead of Bamber or his sister.

At the trial, it was said to be Bamber's - and numerous other anomalies exist - all made worse and badly contaminated by the police cleaning up the farmhouse.

Then police records of the phone calls - putting Bamber at a definite location - at the time of the murders, only came to light last year.

Meaning simply - if Bamber was on a call at C, it would (because of distance) be impossible for him to commit the murders at D!

Several police officers were quickly transferred, retired or vanished - after these terrible events.
