Tescos, and probably other supermarkets, have really got to sort out their online shopping. I did an order for an elderly neighbour - had to book an order for next week, the first free slot. Did the order, all done, great. Then she wanted something adding a couple of days later - so I logged back on, and saw that half of her original order had been cancelled. 'Out of stock'. No email, no warning, nothing. If I hadn't logged back on, she would have been left with barely anything.
If they make you book days ahead, and take your payment, they should keep what you order. Otherwise it's like herding cats - every day between now and your order they're removing stuff you've booked because idiot stockpilers in store have emptied the shelves. It's crazy! |

Ah, but tissues aren't put together in the same way as toilet roll is as they're designed to hold together rather than break up. Same with newspaper.
I predict a drains emergency as people get ever more inventive. |

Several people on ebay are actually offering loo paper for THOUSANDS of pounds. The worst one has one pack of loo rolls for £65,600! And it's not a even a joke. Presumably they hope a billionaire with the squits will look at it and think, 'Oooh, okay, this is urgent' - click - success!

And they won't sell them. There are also lots of people selling toilet paper at relatively normal prices. No one is going to die if they don't get hold of toilet roll. You can always use tissues which still seem to be available in my area, or if the worst comes to the worst your copy of the Daily Mail, or for balance Daily Mirror. |
