As as I understand it Rick the expert in question is part of the Government appointed group responding to this.
I just SAID that! The Government is obliged to act on the advice of ITS advisors! If those advisors switch advice, what is a Government supposed to do - say go to hell? Consult Tarot cards? Play eeney-miney? Jesus fecking christ!

I don't think the advisors are being stupid; once set on this road (stop the spread) they and Government are doing the right thing. I just happen to think it's the wrong road and common sense should have told us to take an alternative road (which China, for example, did). Limited shutdown; small areas and the vulnerable. |

The interesting development will be whether a lot or even most of us have already had it at the same time already... |

V intteresting front page in The Times today. A prof leading Government's response has warned we will be doing more harm in long run with lockdown and virus needs to go through the community to build up 'herd immunity'.
They are paving the way bit by bit for a reversal in next few weeks; as this is not sustainable or sensible...
But they were never trying to stop us from getting it, just trying to stop us all getting it at the same time. |
