hedda Sign of the times..

News Corp just announced a US$1.5Billion loss due to collapsing newspaper sales.

Evgeny Lebedev (that's Lord Lebedev to you) has announced he's axing half the staff on The Independent including 68 journalists for the same reason.

# I feel sorry for all these hacks. Probably aged mid 40s with family and mortgage and sent out into a shrinking market.

How many media barons are holding onto collapsing assets like newspapers just for the power?

Yet no government will tax Google, Facebook, Twitter and all the social media giants as they allow them to artificially base themselves in "tax havens" so they can avoid paying their fair share. We all prop up these utter swines because we have no choice..sales tax and so on.

And then along comes an unexpected virus ( Influenza ? ) causing unbelievable financial havoc upon the world showing up how Capitalism when throttled by Neo Liberalism can bring entire countries to a halt.

Something has to change.
