JK2006 My namesake Swift got there first!
Wyot Haven't caught up with any of the show yet but loved the books.

I used to work in Guildford so the visuals of a giant JK stomping through the town centre on my lunch break in that "lovely" Union Jack jacket thing I think you wore on The Brits, like an ear worm, won't leave me this morning....
JK2006 My friend gave me the three book set of His Dark Materials when I spent my first Christmas in Belmarsh jail (for crimes that never happened) in 2001. The concept of The Subtle Knife, escaping into an alternative world, was very attractive. It made my Christmas.

During the nights in Belmarsh I frequently had a recurring dream. I grew huge; so big that I burst out of the prison. Stomped my way up to London. Trod on the Old Bailey, destroying that horrible building. Stomped over to Max Clifford's office in Bond Street (he started it all for his client). Stomped down to Surrey. Stomped on the ghastly Guildford Police station (funnily enough, demolished shortly after in the real world).

Not nightmares. Very happy dreams.
JK2006 Getting better (adding Andrew Scott and Terence Stamp has improved matters); I love the Subtle Knife concept. I also love Mary Malone in the books (I know the perfect place to film all the trees sequences - yet to come - on the road outside Meknes). Too late now.
