Green Man Morse does have a following in USA. I have never got in to it however I do appreciate the production value.
Wyot I loved Morse.

My favourite episode was the "magic flute" one where an evil genius Morse had previously jailed comes back to set him up. I recall that he planted a cassette tape in Morse's house that set itself alight and burned his house out.

Morse's main concern was that the cassette was the worst recording of The Magic Flute ever made and he would never have allowed it in the house....
JK2006 The very last Morse tonight; The Remorseful Day. Mind you, Lewis has been great too; and Endeavour.
Ms V Parsimonious Endeavour, I think, is the best of the three Colin Dexter series - with Roger Allan as Fred Thursday. All three are set in Oxford and Oxfordshire - with Blenheim Palace and the colleges used to good effect.

Series 8 is greenlighed for filming in 2021 with Morse, Thursday, Bright and Strange. John Thaw's daughter plays the part of the Oxford Mail's editor - and Dexter is an extra, in every episode.
JK2006 Maggie Steed. And a very young Roger Allom who crops up in Endeavour as Thursday!
