hedda by the way Mal..I gave out a snippet around 10 years ago that Prince Andrew would become Governor General of Australia and it swept the world..especially in Asia as eager newspapers picked it up.

It was of course an April Fool's Joke.

I was most offended when the Daily Mail decided to actually check with the Palace first instead of just running the tale. Most unsporting of them.
md Everything should become crystal clear and return to ‘normal’ once the big deal bill goes through today. 10 million people will soon be privileged recipients of the brand new Brexit 50p coin. A huge advertising promotion will help them to sell out in minutes or cause the system to crash. For the many who miss out, there are probably already other special treats waiting in the pipeline such as a brand new series of 'Ford Global Anthem' style ads. These will be shown incessantly on tv screens and streaming channels throughout 2021. They will feature old-time favourite tunes such as “This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius”, “Don’t worry, be happy” and “Always look on the bright side of death”.

Little Sausage America sinks into systematic homelessness, violent crime, landlords not receiving rent..
Closure of hundreds of thousands of retail shops.
The US government is uncovered as a crooked mafia like cartel.

Britain is still seen as a safe haven once the c h ina vir us is put under control with mass vaccinations.

The English countryside is still beautiful and lovely.

The recorded music business is now in the hands of giant tech companies and only the big major players make any real money from Pop.

On a side note, British pop songwriter Geoff Stephens passed away on December 24, 2020 age 86.

Geoff had loads of hits and co-wrote with Les Reed,
Tony Macaulay (Anthony Instone), John Carter (John Shakespeare), Roger Cook, Roger Greenaway and others during the golden era of UK pop.

9. Streaming - to finally kill Cinema

I think that Cinema will survive, although it may be smaller. There are a hard core of people that prefer to watch films in the cinema. Streaming has been around for several years, but cinema still prevails. I watched Wonder Woman in the cinema on christmas eve (actually a theatre showing films (horsham capitol). There was a very good turnout compared to recent experiences. Its not the sort of film that I would normally favour, but there was little choice. You can't recreate the cinema experience at home. You have the large screen, surround sound and the community spirit of watching it with others. As we have seen with the resurgance of vinyl, due to mindfulness and living in the moment, I think the same will happen with cinema. When you watch films in the cinema you are not constantly looking at your phone, been disturbed by traffic noises, or popping out to the fridge. Its not good for our well-being to be stuck in the house all the time.

I agree. Smaller more plush cinemas charging more because the experience- concentrated viewing- is still more compelling than getting up every now and then to make a cup of tea. Like that gorgeous little cinema in the Curzon Hotel (if it's till there- used to show all the Mae West films)

My prediction
: not one single other EU country will even contemplate leaving. This a Brexiters Fantasy which they promote because of their own twisted belief in what is to come but
1. they will see the calamities soon to engulf the UK and tread carefully

2. the election of Trump and the hostility he showed to the EU (IE : every member state) shows the US to be fair weather "friend" not to be trusted. United we Stand Divided we Fall

3. Once reality sets in with the UK battling to trade in the world and the enormous added costs they will think again..United we Stand and Divided we Fall

4. they can drive or travel from France to Spain and Spain is still Spain and France is still France unlike all the Little Englanders with their fantasied version of a past (where they all hovered on the sands at Dunkirk or shuddered during the bombs in the Blitz).. all spoiled by Johnny Foreigner and dark skinned immigrants.. and

5. there's nothing in it for them.

My point was that the barmaid did NOT break the guidelines, and that the guidelines are a pile of horseshit.

I know you remain anchored firmly to sense Honey. My post was not aimed at your post and I realised my error by making a point using "your barmaid" almost immediately. Please see this as a formal correction and clarification
