Bollocks!

Season it, don't season it, roll it in salt, juggle with it, do what you want with it, but if you think it has very little flavour there is something wrong with you.
You might not LIKE the flavour unless it is salted or whatever, but that doesn't mean the flavour isn't there for most people with working taste buds.


I have no idea why Robbie thinks meat must be seasoned, it's personal preference I just like beef done rare, chicken cooked properly. Yes the flavour of meat is there without seasoning - Honey is right Robbie and you are wrong.

I couldn't care less what a TV chef thinks, we pay them they don't pay us unless you are their supplier. I have worked in pubs and clubs before Robbie which has meant I have to do the cooking from time to time.

I never add salt or pepper to my dinners, I only use ketchup with chips and maybe a splash of vinegar.

You don't need to combine foods in a single meal as long as you get a good spread over the whole day. I imagine most people here will scoff and say that not eating meat is unnatural. One of the worst things about eating vegan food, is that if you are eating a meal with other people at a restaurant for the first time, you have to spend the rest of the evening explaining why you don't eat meat and hear lots of dubious counter arguments about not getting enough b12 (yeast flakes), calcium, or protein. I just usually say I chose that because it was my preferred choice. I don't question why people choose lamb over beef, or any other such choices.

Interesting to see how low budget masterchef was in 2005. It seems to be filmed in a large shed, and there is no celebrity critics to taste the food. The Professional kitchens are usually small local places like wagamamas (probably quite new in 2005), and there seemed to be a greater emphasis on the personality of the chefs.

It wasn't an argument for veganism, just a comment on all those people who seem to think that not seasoning food is a normal and advisable thing to do. This post is really about Masterchef and how it has changed over the years.


I didn't say it was "advisable" to not season meat.
I said it was perfectly normal not to, and that it isn't "tasteless" if you don't!






Honey Robbie, if you are thinking of going vegan, you can easily combine food to make complete protein.

This is the most basic explanation I can find, and you can research further or ignore me if you already know.
