Green Man Yes, hopefully no more lockdowns, masks, social distancing and holidays abroad can resume prior lockdown.

Yes I hope you are right about March (and also suspect this will be the outcome) but very much hope you are wrong about the billions!

Wyot I don't see much evidence of a media shift or people I know waking up. It all hinges, I think, on the March 8th review. By then vaccines will have rolled out to all vulnerable groups, and those that don't take it up for whatever supersticious/ill educated reasons will just have to take the risk.

If we can't learn to live with the level of risk after this then we could be in for years of on/off lockdowns and the country will be literally ruined.

The one hope I take is that I don't think Boris (unlike the awful Starmer) has ever wanted lockdowns. But I just hope the media environment in March allows him to go with a managed risk, rather than cave in to the media and quasi-religious hysteria driven collateral-deniers.
JK2006 So do we think all the gullibles will fall for the Boris tears (and the Starmer equally stupid rubbish insincere crap)? Or do we think they are being rumbled? And so is the media?
And it is starting to dawn on even the gullibles that sobbing tears only for the 100,000 media interest covid deaths and ignoring the 600,000 other deaths is insulting, unpleasant and, most of all, insincere? That treating a virus which is, for 95%, no more serious than flu, is not only stupid but dangerous, causing millions of unneccesary deaths and misery?
Probanly not; the media is very strong.
But let's just hope that a small minority (probably rioting in Holland) is starting to see the reality.
Is Covid19 a hoax? No it is certainly not. It is a nasty lethal virus for the vulnerable. Is it the media hyped killer plague? No it is not. Is it a great reset? God no; barmy conspiracy theorists. Is it simply a right wing weapon? No, look at Macron's mistakes. Can it be beaten? Yes easily; by slowing the spread early; by concentrating all effort and expense on protecting & treating the vulnerable. And by never, never allowing the media "great story" to influence policy.
