Sunday can be your day off.,
Wyot Of course the medals & the pomp & ceremony are ridiculous and anachronistic. What would be the point of a Royal Family otherwise in this day and age? They aren't going to lead at an Agincourt are they...

You make a choice: is the national discourse and tone improved by the anachronism of monarchy? I would say yes; now more than ever before.

One of the many things the royals need to do is lose their addiction to medals. No one outside the military cares, and I suspect plenty inside the military find some of those who have practically a chestful of medals quite laughable. Even when they can't wear their uniforms they still can't resist slapping all the badges on.

Break the connection completely with the military, take civilian jobs and start acting like you're no longer in the 19th century.

Medal addiction is rife and meaningless, with Anne a good example. Though hard-working, Anne has never been in a conflict or served in the forces. Yet her medal tally is enormous.
